nearly forgot there should be an answer for our labour…
–from group SaLangAne.
The update is that the results will be released eminently. We apologize for the unavoidable delay. All of your comments and concerns will be taken into account when planning the next competition.
Where are the results?
I’m waiting for a long long time….
24 hours are not so long!!
Well, I’ll keep on waiting.
I did not say results, I said update, which I thought I posted, apparently my usage of wordpress is not as good as I thought, I forgot to approve my own comment or something stupid.
The update that I meant to send is that we have finally gained access to your submissions (which was what the big delay was all about) and are RUSHING as quickly as possible to complete the judging and have the results to you ASAP.
The good news is that the funds for prizes, which were set to expire and go away at the end of December, were saved and rolled over into this years budget so that we will still be able to give you guys cool stuff once we know who the winners are.
Please let us know if you have any more questions. We’re listening.
You mean that you just gained the acess to our submissions?
And you are rushing to compelete the judging?
Oh my goddess, I would rather say that please just take your time, and make everything run on the track, to ensure the result perfectly…
It seems not being your fault, so just take a breath.
I just have one link to say!

Dake Feng: Yes, that is what I meant to say.
take your time, GOOD LUCK

I used to beleive that IEEE is a serious organization. It is unbeleivable to see that a competition hold by IEEE cannot even access to the submitted results(or whatever) How can we explain to our teachers/professors that we entered a contest hold by IEEE and it even cannot reach to the submitted results? Shame.
I completely agree with you ReqField.
I told everybody around about the contest and now, 2 months latter, nothing.
Super Shame.
re: ReqField and Jerome Falcon
I am disappointed with the intolerance of you comments. It is clearly obvious that you lack the patience to be truly great programmers.
Programming takes great amounts of patience. Not being able to wait for a while and passing the judgement that you have shows me that you are intolerant people only in the competition for the glory and not the experience. This is not what the essence of the competition was about.
It was about building team spirit in the branches and about starting new international competition and relations. Xtreme Admin has clearly stated what the issue was in obtaining the submission. Patience is always needed in a new endeavor. Instant gratification isn’t always the means to an end.
So I leave you with this: Sure the Xtreme Admin have run into issues with the submissions, but this is a new competition and a new forum in which the competition was run. Surely there are hurdles to overcome. Would you rather the Xtreme Admin now rush through the submissions in order to satisfy your inability to satiate your desire to be the ‘most victorious’ or would you rather the judging be done right?
Any idea when the results will be ready?
I want to apologize for my lack of patience and my arrogance.
Of course I want the judging to be done right.
I just want to say that this “long time waiting issue” has nothing to do with our programming skills. The only thing you guys out there did wrong is not informing us about what was going on during more than a month, considering the fact that we were supposed to get the results 2 weeks after the contest (what we have been told).
I now try to “be in your shoes” and I understand the difficulty of the hole judging process. Please accept my excuse.
Thank you very much.
Jerome Falcon
P.S.: Sorry about my English, its my 2nd language, I might be too much mad unvoluntary.
to James Holmes
If you are to blame, dont blame others. We attend the contest, with full trust on you. We spent whole 24 hours without attending anything class, though most of us were around final that time and more important, we brought great passion, as we did in other ICPC or something. We did what we were required and more than that. How about you? After months you blame us for lack of patience? Guess what, there are something called online judges, the time you deliver your codes, it gives you the answer whether your results are accepted or not, that’s what the contest supposed to have.
I tell you onething, these people come here and say something because they are still keeping eyes on you! Feel flattered for that! Someday you became totally out of concern, that’s the right time for you to get angry at everyone.
And, if you plan to do something, especially something getting some many people involved, get planned before you get others. You know what, IEEE is undermined in our mind as the benefit of your patience taking work. If you want to do something, never plan to rely on the patience of others.
In response to nonames comments. James Holmes is not a contest administrator, he is probably a fellow participant. Blaming him is pointless. Please do not construe any comments not posted under the Xtreme Admin login as coming from anyone on the contest commitee.
In response to your comments, we did not plan to rely on the patience of others. We fully intended to get you the results on time. The snag was that we had all of the results going to one person, who then fell off of the face of the planet for two months. We tried, believe me to contact this person in every way possible and were just as frustrated as you were when we failed. We have recently taken extreme measures to get your contest submissions and have made a good faith attempt to run this contest from the very beginning. In future, we will take this first experience into consideration. I want you to bring your passion and excitement to the table and I recognize that you made a good faith contribution to this contest.
I am signing this personally as I don’t want my comments to be construed as coming from IEEE as an organization. We are all volunteers and individuals. When we work together as a team, we can do great things. Unfortunately, in this situation, the team failed and for that, I personally apologize.
Elizabeth Johnston
So, how goes things?
“in the next days” already became “in the next weeks”
no no I’m not impatient… well… I pretend to
Jerome of Macrohard
“Days” is quite ambiguous isn’t it. I guess from here on out, I’ll stop the futility monitoring this site and wait for an e-mail. At least it was a fun 24 hours during the contest!
btw. Jerome, I can’t believe you appologized after James Holmes comment. I mean seriously, you can’t possibly be a truely great programmer… Its not like he passed judgment on you based on a few comments on a message board.
The first fact is… I am a truly great programmer.
The second fact is… he did passed judgment on me based on a few comments on this blog.
Easy, folks, we still have too many things of ours to do…
Just let them pay more time to make the result positively accepted by most attendance.
Now I do not care the lasting time so much, I just wonder the result, whether their organization and authority are weakened by the changing of volunteers and long term’s silence.
I think all guys here are great programmer. But we really got some other stuff to worry about other than this result. I am seeking for a used BMW for nearly a semester… Tiresome…
And one month have passed since they have our submissions .. any idea when the results will be out?
hallo,
We are currently sorting out a small issue with some results: It looks like one of the problems could admit more than one solution (even though we initially only had one set of results), and that several of you actually noticed (you’re smart! }:D). The responsible for the problem is right now revisiting the results to be sure we give proper scoring to those teams which sent the alternative (though valid) solutions, so I will expect him to send some results back some point this weekend
Again, sorry for the delay!
and, what’s up now? anybody home? ready for deliver the final result?
Another Week passed, Is any updates regarding the result?
So, no updates on a blog which is moderated on a daily basis.
